My Kindle could not download Audible

Hey just a normal day I am playing with my new Kindle Oasis 2020 edition. Everything is so good with this new gadget. I could download Kindle books I’ve purchased from Amazon. However I could not download from Audible. Here was what happened:

Go to the “My Library” and click one of Audible item. Then the status changed to “QUEUED”. However the download didn’t start.

At first I was thinking it’s Kindle problem. So I’ve tried to get Kindle Support. But after a few tries with Kindle support, we could not figure it out. We tried reset the device, unregister the device, register device again…all of them none of them worked.

Kindle support suggested they can do free replacement or free return. Huhhhh, I don’t want to give up this fantastic reader. So I’ve spent a few to check my local network.

It turned out that my Kindle Oasis was connecting to Netgear Orbi wifi network at home. Netgear Orbi Router blocks Audible by default. I had to add it’s url name into white list or create another profile with “Adult” pre settings — means block none.

Right after I’ve add the Audible url name into white list. My audible download started.

A few suggestion to both manufacture:

  1. Amazon Kindle: Can you add more information when sites were blocked by local network?
  2. Netgear: Can you please not block Audible in Orbi default setting? I recently found that not only Audible but also it blocked our local county public school system websites. Too aggressive. :P

I hope this would help some of us who had the same trouble. I’ve googled a few but didn’t find any related answers.

Cheers!
